There he met folks such as Chungliang Al Huang, Tom Crum, and Ken Wilber, which introduced him to the research of Clare Graves, nascent Integral philosophy, and the practice of martial arts, which brought focus to the direction of his future studies.  Stician received his Bachelor of Arts degree in the Psychology of Communication from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. He received his Masters of Arts in Intercultural Service, Leadership and Management at the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont. Mr. Samples currently holds the rank 4th degree black belt and Renshi in Okinawan Tomari-Te Shorin Ryu, and Instructor rank in Combat Systema. From time to time he co-presents with Cheryl Charles on topics related to conflict transformation; mind, body, spirit; and the environment. Currently, his time is dedicated to being a stay-at-home parent raising young children, cultivating a healthy ecology locally and online, and reading when he can.
